Airports and airplanes are incredible places for travel—and for sharing germs.
Think about it: a single sneeze can travel surprisingly far, and in the confined environment of an airplane, viruses and bacteria can quickly circulate through the cabin. Add in crowded terminals, security lines, shared surfaces, and dry cabin air, and it’s no surprise that so many people seem to get sick after traveling.
That’s why protecting your immune system before and during travel can make a big difference.
Start with Your Nose and Throat
Your nose and throat are often the first line of defense against the germs you encounter while traveling.
Unfortunately, airplane cabins are notoriously dry. That dry air can leave your throat and nasal passages feeling irritated and less able to do their job effectively.
One of my favorite travel companions is Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis.
Propolis is a natural substance that bees create to protect their hives from outside threats, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It’s essentially the hive’s protective shield, and it has become a staple in my travel routine.
Using propolis helps support the areas that are exposed to every cough, sneeze, and recycled breath you encounter on your journey.
Support Your Immune System from the Inside
Protecting your throat is only part of the equation.
When your immune system encounters stressors—including travel, lack of sleep, and exposure to new germs—it increases its use of antioxidants. One of the most important antioxidants is vitamin C.
That’s why I like to pair propolis with liposomal vitamin C.
Liposomal delivery helps improve absorption, and vitamin C helps replenish what your immune system uses when it’s working overtime. Supporting those antioxidant reserves may help your body stay prepared for whatever comes your way.
A Simple Travel Stack
My go-to travel routine includes:
- Propolis for throat and upper airway support
- Liposomal vitamin C for antioxidant and immune support
- Plenty of hydration during flights
- Good sleep whenever possible
It’s simple, easy to pack, and airport-friendly.
Travel Smarter, Not Fearfully
Travel should be exciting—not something you dread because you always seem to get sick afterward.
Supporting your body’s natural defenses with ingredients like propolis and vitamin C can help you stay ahead of the challenges that come with airports, airplanes, and crowded destinations.
You don’t have to be afraid of germs when you travel. You just need a plan.
